Compensation:

Our compensation philosophy is grounded in being competitive, equitable, and transparent.

Competitive: The salary range for this position is $71,000 to $91,280.

Equitable: We avoid negotiation within the ranges to create equity across our team, because we know that salary negotiations lead to poorer outcomes for individuals from non-dominant groups and underrepresented communities.

Transparent: We construct our salaries in such a way that staff can move through the range as they grow within their level. As such, most candidates will start at the midpoint of the range ($81,500), with some above or below the midpoint based on specific skill sets and experiences.

About the position:

The Senior Manager, Medicine Security is responsible for leading on the procurement of essential medicines and supplies for Americares PRM award to increase medicine security in Lebanon and for managing procurement in response to the Ukraine Crisis in collaboration with colleagues. The candidate will work closely with the Americares Ukraine project staff, Americares PRM partner (Anera), Americares Associate Director of Procurement and other stakeholders to perform procurement activities. The Senior Manager, Medicine Security is responsible for ensuring that all procurement processes and contracts are in compliance with USG regulations and Americares policies, including open competition, vetting vendors and alignment of purchased product with Lebanon and Ukraine import rules. Americares seeks a candidate who is passionate about locally driven and sustainable initiatives that improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, and who has a strong interest in cross-department coordination, organizational learning, and maximizing efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Conduct research and identify reliable vendors and suppliers

· Work closely with GIK team to determine what program medicines will be provided through donation

· Manage and direct bidding and vendor selection process to meet needs identified by partners

· Ensure application of and adherence to all relevant procurement policies and procedures

· Manage document review process and ensure all partner requirements for documentation are met including storage on Salesforce and/or SharePoint

· Interface with suppliers to ensure the timely shipping and delivery of orders, including as regards transportation

· Work with Americares and partner staff to ensure confirmation of receipt of goods per the description on the purchase order/request

· Maintain thorough and up-to-date procurement files for all Lebanon and Ukraine procurements and ensure adherence to all Americares and partner requirements for documentation

· Provide status reports to Americares staff and partners and make recommendations on lessons learned

· Work with Finance team to ensure payments are processed in a timely way for completed procurements

· Assist during internal and external audit inquiries

· Coordinate regularly with stakeholders to ensure procurements are in compliance with program and donor requirements

· Other duties as assigned

We’d love to hear from you if…

· A minimum of seven years’ experience in international relief and development programming, including involvement in Gift-in-Kind and procurement of medicines and medical supplies, and program management. Prior Americares experience strongly preferred

· Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, synthesize significant amounts of data and other project details, and to analyze the situation based on this synthesis.

· Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

· Proven skill in negotiation and networking, preferably experience with vendor management.

· Strong understanding of or ability to familiarize self with procurement policies for US Government funded programs (USAID or PRM)

· Proven ability to work as part of a team and coordinate collegially with project personnel

· Experience with project management, grant management, data management and analysis, cross-sector partnerships, and strategic development.

· High level of integrity

· Collaborative/active listener; strong communication skills – ability to present information clearly and effectively

· Bachelor’s degree with concentration in a relevant field including, but not limited to, business administration, operations management, supply chain management, global health/public health, international relations; Master’s degree preferred

· Fluency in English required, working proficiency in French, Arabic, Polish or Ukrainian preferred

· You have language in at least one of our core languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Hindi, Kiswahili, Haitian Creole (this would be a plus, but is not a requirement)

· You have US work authorization
